Cat Friendly Clinic
calm, specialist care for cats
We are a Cat Friendly Clinic
We know cats aren’t small dogs — they have different needs, different fears, and they tell us things differently. That’s why our team has earned Silver Cat Friendly Clinic accreditation from the International Society for Feline Medicine / International Cat Care (ISFM/International Cat Care). This reflects our commitment to reduce stress, improve clinical care for cats, and make visits gentler and more positive for both cat and owner.

Why feline-focused care matters
When cats are stressed their behaviour, clinical signs and even lab results can be affected, making accurate assessment and treatment harder. A calmer visit helps us examine, diagnose and treat more effectively while protecting your cat’s welfare.

How our accredited care looks at our clinic
We’ve put the Silver requirements into practice to make your cat’s visit calm and effective:
Calm arrival: a cat-only, visually separated waiting area with raised surfaces for carriers and quiet seating so your cat feels safer.
Gentle handling: our vets and nurses use feline-friendly handling and “low-stress” techniques taught through ongoing training – we aim to reduce fear, restraint and struggling.
Feline-focused consults: we give cats time, space and the right equipment to allow a thorough but calm assessment. Shorter, rushed consultations can increase anxiety; we tailor each appointment to the cat’s needs.
Stress-reducing measures: we use pheromone diffusers, quiet consult rooms, comfortable bedding and hiding spots where appropriate to help cats settle.
Appropriate hospital care: if your cat needs to stay with us, we provide cat-appropriate housing and monitoring to keep them comfortable and safe.

What our accreditation means for your cat
Our Silver practice-level accreditation sits above the Foundation/Bronze requirements. To earn Silver status we meet a set of clinic-wide standards designed specifically for feline welfare, including:
-
A dedicated or clearly separated cat waiting area so cats don’t have to see or be near dogs.
-
Hospitalisation and housing arrangements appropriate for cats (separation from dogs or separated cat-only areas; suitable cages and bedding).
-
Staff training in feline-friendly handling, nursing care and protocols so examinations, diagnostics and treatments are carried out with minimal stress.
-
At least one named Cat Advocate on the team to champion feline needs and be your contact for cat-specific questions.
