Veterinary Receptionist (Part Time – 19.5 hrs)

Join our welcoming, independent small animal practice at Tay Veterinary Centre. We’re looking for a friendly, organised and proactive Veterinary Receptionist to become a key part of our front-of-house team.

As the first point of contact for our clients and their pets, you’ll play a vital role in creating a calm, professional and caring experience from the moment they get in touch.

About the Role

This is a part-time position (19.5 hours per week), with shifts worked on a rota basis across:

  • Monday–Friday: 08:00–19:00
  • Saturdays: 08:00–16:00

Flexibility to cover additional shifts for holidays or sickness is desirable.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Greeting clients and patients with warmth and professionalism
  • Managing appointments and diary scheduling
  • Answering phone calls and handling enquiries efficiently
  • Registering new clients and maintaining accurate records
  • Processing payments and handling financial transactions
  • Supporting the clinical team with administrative tasks
  • Dispensing prescriptions (training provided if needed)
  • Maintaining a clean, organised reception area

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous reception or customer service experience (essential)
  • Experience in a veterinary or animal care setting (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident using computer systems and handling admin tasks
  • A calm, positive approach in a busy environment
  • A genuine interest in animal welfare
